Bowers and Wilkins has announced that it will be providing a high performance sound system in Maserati’s 2013 flagship sports sedan, the Quattroporte.

The audio system in the Quattroporte is not an after-thought – it is an integrated feature of the design of the car. Fifteen specialised speaker units are built into the internal architecture of the cabin, strategically placed to ensure the best possible acoustic performance.

The Quattroporte’s surround system, says B&W, creates a rich sound experience, no matter where you’re sitting. HARMAN’s QuantumLogic signal processing and AuraVox equalisation ensure that everyone enjoys a great listening experience.

Tuning a speaker system is a fine art, requiring expert ears and hours of listening, says the company. Accordingly, the Maserati system has been tuned by the engineers responsible for Bowers & Wilkins’ flagship 800 Series – as used by Abbey Road Studios in London.

About the Author

Writing about audio professionally since the mid-1980s has been a fantastically enjoyable and satisfying task but also a hardening one: it has forced upon me an honesty that I feel compelled to share with my readers. This has not made me popular with those manufacturers who rate success and wealth above integrity... and there are a few of those! I can live with that, though, because the gear the 'good guys' produce more than makes up for all manner of ills! Stereo is still fun, even after forty years... Thank God!
